Markie Post, ‘Night Court’ Actress, Dead at 70

The image above was photographed by Harry Langdon in 1983. The B&W is the original, but here is a decent colorized version.

Interesting factoid brought up in the comments: Markie’s dad was a highly distinguished physicist.

  1. I first became aware of Markie Post from her role on The Fall Guy. I also enjoyed her on Night Court of course. Reading her father’s Wikipedia was interesting. I suppose the child of an award winning physicist and a poet was either going to go into hard science or the arts. That does explain why she was so good at all those game shows though. RIP. RIP also Night Court costar Charlie Robinson who died less than a month ago.

  2. Millennials will probably never know how smokin’ hot this woman was in her prime. She used to be all over the air, esp. game shows like Pyramid, not because she needed money but because she was good at them. She had a beaming, warm personality & a body that could stop time. Unfortunate though that she suffered from some really bad 80’s hair at times.

  3. Sad news…that leaves John Larroquette from “Night Court, happily living in Salmon Creek, WA.

Her dad also has a wikipedia entry…but he made it to 96.

    1. I think Bull is still alive and is close to 80, defying the general rule about body mass and longevity. (The biggest guy should die first.)

      1. Follow-up. Not only is Richard Moll alive, but IMDb lists him first in the cast of a movie in progress called Whispers and Shadows. (I never heard of it.)

    2. Larroquette’s still working, too. Aged 73. Did a 5 episode arc last year in S4 of The Good Fight. Many COVID prisoners binged the shortened season. Only 7 episodes (vs. 10).
