That’s quite an image: Ethel exposing her hole onstage, and Ernie rushing up to put his borgnine in there. I’m glad I did not see that.
This was first done by Ethel Merman in the 60’s during her shows. That’s how she snagged Ernie Borgnine, but sadly it didn’t last. Let’s just say there’s a reason her last name was Merman and not Mermaid
That wasn’t backstage. It was on stage as part of her show as I recall.
