Oh, come on. It was a rhetorical question, not a brain-teaser. It’s funny because the answer’s so obvious. Sure, I knew it, too, before I *hovered* over the link.
UncleScoopy makes fun of it, mirroring The Daily Beast. TDB being the left’s answer to Fox News. Meanwhile, TDB is citing CBN, whose coverage is decidedly less judgmental. It’s clear that Trump is prone to ridiculous braggadocio. OTOH, there’s always some justification he has in mind to make it plausible. He, at least, can believe his case is debatable.
Sure, his logic is specious, generally. Like Putin’s. But still, appealing to some hearers. AKA, his marks. He’s exploiting them. But it works, on them. He profits off them. This would be pretty funny, too, if only its effectiveness weren’t tragically important. The joke’s on us, really. Gallows humor, in a way.
