  1. She looks like the women on the covers of the paperback books at the dimestore in the early 1960’s. At the time I wondered about the absence of such women in my everyday life as a 8 year old in Ohio.

      1. In my grandmother’s house, 60’s paperback covers generally depicted a “dark and stormy night” tableau, wherein a beautiful woman wearing a nightgown or some such was running away from an ominous Victorian mansion built miles away from anything else. Sinister implications galore.

        1. Nah, the ones I remember were not sword-and-sorcery books or bodice rippers. They were more urban or suburban with titles like “Split Level Love“, “Party Wives“, or “The Punks“. That may be why they stuck in my mind – they seemed to be set in the real world, although they were actually about as realistic as Conan the Barbarian”. (I read some years later, when they were dirt cheap in used bookstores. I think science fiction author Robert Silverberg got started in this genre.)

  2. Apparently boobs getting in the way of a golf swing isn’t as big a handicap as once thought.

    1. I knew a pre-Fosbury Flop woman (beautiful) high-jumper who had problems. Apparently, they weren’t making sports bras yet.
