2. I always appreciate the time you put into this every year. I’ve been a subscriber of yours for many years. Almost a tradition.

3. Umm. I don’t understand. What is a bogus vote? What if I voted for Virginie Efira because that was my own actual preference? Does that not count? Not entirely following here.

   1. The people who stuffed the ballots used many different techniques.

      1) One example: a vote comes in for an actress on IP xx.xx.xx.1. Thirty seconds later, a vote for the same actress on xx.xx.xx.2. Thirty seconds later, a vote for the same actress on xx.xx.xx.3. All obviously from the same guy re-setting a dynamic IP.

      2) Another example: an actress has no votes among the first 600 cast, then gets the next twelve in a row, all within seconds of one another.

      3) Thirty consecutive votes come in in rapid fashion, all shunted through proxy servers. All are votes for the same three actresses.

      And so forth.

      Efira is a good example of an actress who had legitimate support (I personally voted for her, for example), but also received stuffed ballots. She finished on the top twenty list even without the shenanigans.

      A completely different example would be Kang-Hae Lim, who had pretty much only false ballots. She had three legitimate votes plus the bogus ones, so I gave her credit for four, thus giving the ballot stuffer one vote like everyone else.

      What really made it complicated is that there seemed to be more than one person stuffing the ballots, and they didn’t agree on their choices. Why anyone would stuff the ballot box for Lily Simmons is beyond me, although I don’t know why anyone would rig a meaningless election like this in the first place. There’s no prize in cash or power, and nobody will even know the results except for a fairly small internet community. The weirdest example was the campaign for Maia Mitchell, who had the most fake ballots, and didn’t need them in the least. She won by a mile without them!

      Anyway, I did the best I could to throw out all suspicious results, but I can’t be sure I got them all. The final ranking didn’t really change that much except for Yara Pilartz and Kang-Hae Lim, who had once appeared to be contenders for a spot among the top twenty, but really were near the bottom. (They were both arguably deserving of higher places than a popularity contest like this would be likely to accord them, so I guess the ballot-stuffer thought he was serving the cause of justice.)

      1. Fair enough – thanks for the explanation. And thanks for putting all that effort into ensuring that the final results were representative of actual votes. It is strange that a few participants would try to hijack something like this. As you say, ‘what for?’.

4. The Lily James scenes is a nice illusion but not sure it even counts as a nude scene since the only real bits were that quick flash in a see thru top.

   1. She was in the qualifying round, but failed to earn any support.

      Good scene, but lost in the fray.

      1. So no vote from me. She was the best in 2022.

         1. If you or anyone else had placed her first in the qualifying round, she would have been on the ballot, but she received no first place votes. In fact, she received no second place votes either.
