Hmm… merkin or… digital blurring?
I for one have thought from the big inning that Ms. Law had either opted to ease up on paving over the tarmac at this stage in her life, or for artistic reasons decided that’s what the role called for. But unlike some other amateur prognosticators, I never believed 4k sources were gonna magically settle all questions.
Like, it’s still up in in the air, from my point of view, whether or not Ms. Law has any congenital anatomical deformities in the Netherlands.

Ms. J. Law grew a bush. She used to shave. She either stopped, or she paused specifically for the film. IMO. This is speculation. If I’m wrong, then other explanations come into play.
4k source displayed on a non-4k device doesn’t necessarily bring new details to light that are more informative. The original source footage would be limited by inherent effects of lighting & camera focus. Technology could affect sampling, frame rate & motion blur.
We can’t very well take a microscope to the image & hope to discover if some detail we’re looking at might be the edge of a merkin where it’s coming loose from the skin, or if that blob might be something else.
Like, say, a bit of pubic hair sticking out from the rest, or a rock on the beach that we’re seeing in the background thru-the-legs. Or, whatever else people may be reporting that they believe to be persuasive evidence of what they’ve concluded.
As a joke, the question I was hoping to shed more light on is that of, is Jennifer Lawrence a perfectly normal human being, or instead, some kind of a monster? For that, we’d need to examine in great detail, the precise nature of the purported monstrosity.

A really original and surprising sequence when you watch the film for the first time. Even not having direct surprise, the fact of seeing her do a complete frontal for this kind of scene was really good! Just a pity that we don’t see her going back into the water to have a beautiful view of her buttocks as some people were entitled to when they attended the test screening. I would like this sequence to come out one day but otherwise a very nice scene here
Shame it was not a great movie, more teen angst than teen comedy.
