Jon Huntsman is the latest op-ed suspect

This one is pretty convincing.

OOPS! Somehow the rest of my post didn’t get published. I wrote it, then immediately added to it, then apparently forgot to push the “update” button.

It read:

This one is pretty convincing but the guy is never in Washington. He lives in Moscow, so I don’t see how he could have much impact on Trump’s behavior. And in his position he’s basically irrelevant to Trump’s communication because Trump would talk directly to Putin rather than through the ambassador.

  1. Why is it convincing? Because he used a lot of big words? I sometimes use the same types of words, including several that seem to “prove” he wrote the article.

I could claim I did it. I wrote it as a parody and used a lot of words and ideas that I had seen in the MSM of late.

You all are being led around by the noses and you don’t even know it. Ever heard the term “Red Herring”?

  2. I was convinced by that article until I went back to read the original piece in the NYT. And I just don’t think that someone as well-known and self-regarding as Huntsman would write that he is concerned about losing his job if he spoke out publicly. Someone like Huntsman obviously thinks he’ll never be out of work and will always be sought after for important gigs. Yes, he could believe he needs to stay in his current position and make a difference under cover. But the way it’s phrased in the original, it definitely sounds like something worried about a career set-back if they lost their job; in other words a mid-level NSA or other security official. Also, if the scoop comes from someone mid-level whom absolutely no one knows, then the NYT has no story at all if they were to publish the story over the author’s byline. In that case, it’s a one-day story not even picked up by all the wire services. But if it’s Huntsman or someone at his level, then the Times has no reason for granting anonymity to the author.
