Mitch McConnell Wonders If He Could’ve Done More In The Private Sector

“‘Sure, I’ve been able to hurt a lot of everyday Americans during my time in the Senate carrying out the Republican Party’s destructive vision, but I’d be lying if I said I didn’t sometimes ask myself whether I could’ve done more to increase suffering in this country if I’d worked as an oil lobbyist or mining sector CEO,’ said McConnell, who admitted that he often lies awake at night pondering the lives he could’ve ruined if he hadn’t entered the public sector at such a young age.”

  1. A loving tribute to Toni Morrison, then a heavy handed “humor” piece aimed toward McConnell…kinda sad how predictably PC-liberal the old Scoopster has become in recent years.

    1. If there is a group that supports unfettered nudity and sexuality on the internet, it’s the modern Evangelical and Puritanical left that this blog bizarrely fetes daily.

    2. So, Roddy, you’re saying McConnell COULDN’T have done more damage to society in the private sector? Or that he could have, and that’s not funny?

    3. I thought it was funny. That’s all. I don’t endorse or reject the sentiment behind it. And it’s not like McConnell has any defenders to get offended. He is, after all, the least admired person in the Senate, possibly the least admired of any person in public life. Charles Manson probably had better approval ratings. Hell, poison ivy probably has more fans.

In the case of Toni Morrison, I absolutely love her gift with language, so I celebrated that , although I have my problems with her literary conceits. Beloved seems to me to be an awkward book, despite its total acceptance in lit circles.
