“Sir, we’ll look into that.”

According to the historian Suetonius, the emperor Caligula once lined up his army on a beach and declared war on Neptune, god of the sea.

During one hurricane briefing at the White House, Trump said, “I got it. I got it. Why don’t we nuke them?” according to one source who was there.

“They start forming off the coast of Africa, as they’re moving across the Atlantic, we drop a bomb inside the eye of the hurricane and it disrupts it. Why can’t we do that?”

A stable genius

Some Twitter wag

About 100 years ago, H.L. Mencken made a prediction about the Presidency.

“As democracy is perfected, the office represents, more and more closely, the inner soul of the people. We move toward a lofty ideal. On some great and glorious day the plain folks of the land will reach their heart’s desire at last, and the White House will be adorned by a downright moron.”

H.L. Mencken, Baltimore Evening Sun, 26 July 1920

  1. Oops…it turns out Trump never said that.

But his side certainly leaked it. It’s all part of the take-down of Google. Just google Trump Hurricane Nuke and it’s page after page of fake story.

This will be used against Google to prove how fake news becomes “real”. Y’all fell for it here too. Our brilliant pres has done it again 🙂

    1. Not correct.

Trump SAID he never said it.

“He said this in at least two meetings during the first year and a bit of the presidency, and one of the conversations was memorialized”

HOWEVER, the NSC memo does not use the word “nuclear,” so Trump may be right in the narrow sense that, although he suggested bombing hurricanes, it is possible that he did not suggest using nuclear bombs.

      Possible, but not likely.

  2. first off a Hurricane is more powerful than a nuclear bomb which any one who has studied this would know and the hurricane would carry the radiation to land killing everyone and the hurricane would still be going brilliant if he really thought this.

    1. You’re right, but you’re giving him way too much credit. There’s no more “thought” involved here than when a boy puts a wasp and ten ants in a Mason jar to see who will win.

  3. This was a tweet I read that was posted early today:
