Kanye announced he’s running for the presidency

Not in the future. NOW.

West appears to have at least one vote secured. “You have my full support!” his pal, Elon Musk, tweeted.

  1. This is like when Michael Scott declared bankruptcy.

It will be surprising if Kanye gets himself on any ballots anywhere on such short notice.

  2. Again? Remember how well his 2015 Presidential campaign launch went. After making 3 separate public announcements, he had plenty of time to get on the ballot in every state; yet he allowed his campaign to fizzle out.

If you can’t trust a “rapper, singer, songwriter, record producer, composer, entrepreneur and fashion designer”. — to quote wiki — then who can you trust?

  3. It’s one thing to announce running for President, it’s another thing to actually get on the ballot. In most states it takes thousands of signatures and in six states worth a combined 101 electoral college votes (including New York and Texas) the deadline to file as an independent candidate has already past.

Even in there was any reason to believe that Kanye West was sincere and not just engaging in some publicity stunt, I’d be surprised if he was on the ballot in a single state.

  4. …leading to a divisive schism within the dimbulb caucus. Also, he seems to have Suckabee on his team, so fact-checkers have job security.
