What platoon split?

Colorado’s Charlie Blackmon, a left-handed hitter, who is therefore supposed to have more trouble with left-handed pitching, is hitting .645 against lefties this year.

That’s no typo. The first digit is a six. He’s 20 for 31.

In his case it’s not surprising that he hits for a better average against lefties. He actually is atypical in that over the course of his career he has batted .312 against lefties and only .305 against right handers, but that’s just a seven point differential, while .645 is herculean!

(NOTE: Blackmon does have a higher career OPS against right-handers, but not by very much.)
