There’s always an opposing viewpoint

  1. Wait – DID the Obama Whitehouse ever attack Bob Woodward? Or did they do it so stealthily that no one ever knew, and that is what Trump means? Once again, I am confused.

      1. I long for the days when something like what is described in that article could be considered big news, or even news at all. Obama tried a political maneuver that backfired, and tried to blame it on the Republicans. Heavens to Murgatroyd, what an outrage! Bring me my fainting couch!

The article closes with “Woodward thinks there is still a grand bargain to be had between Obama and Boehner, with tax reform as a huge component.” Well, there goes Woodward’s rep for omniscience.

Of course, another part says “The truth is that Obama and Republicans supported it because everyone believed it was a such a stupid idea that the grown-ups in Washington would never actually let it happen.”

The idea that there were grown-ups in Washington who would not let stupid things happen should have died about the time the Republicans tried to impeach Clinton. If that really was part of Obama’s plan, he didn’t understand what the Republican Party had become, which in my opinion is a tool for oligarchs who fundamentally did not care about the country to protect and enhance their wealth. Given what Woodward said above, he didn’t either.

        1. PS – Thanks for explaining what Trump, or someone using his Twitter account, was referring to. I would never have guessed. Also, apologies for the screwed up syntax in the last paragraph – it should say “who fundamentally DO not care”, not “DID not care”.

        2. Woodward also wrote a book about Alan Greenspan entitled “Maestro.” We all know how that finally ended….
