I don’t get the popcorn reference.
It’s common on Fark. When there is going to be real spectacle on TV, you make a big bowl of popcorn to eat while you’re watching it. So the popcorn industry likes big TV spectacles, like Trump defending himself at his impeachment trial would be.
People used to eat popcorn at the movies, too, back in the old days when people went to movies. You’re probably too young to remember that, but I do. I would have had an onion on my belt, which was the style at the time….
