There were 99,000 new cases reported in the USA on Friday. That’s the most since early February, and it is still increasing at the rate of 40-50% per week. The number of Americans hospitalized with COVID is up 48% in just one week, according to the most recent hospitalization reports.
New data is why the CDC has changed its recommendation on masks again:
Genetic analysis of the outbreak showed that people who were vaccinated were transmitting the virus to other vaccinated people. The person said the data was “deeply disconcerting” and a “canary in the coal mine” for scientists who had seen the data.
Crap! I’m fully vaccinated and don’t live in a hot spot, but I’ve gone back to wearing my mask indoors and staying six feet away from everyone.
