Cosell: Vanessa Hudgens is ubiquitous, in exiguous garb.

Don Meredith: Not only that Howard, but she seems to be everywhere, showing her stuff.

In fact Netflix just announced that Vanessa will now be in every movie. Well, almost. They had to make a few exceptions. They just couldn’t figure out how to cut her into Schindler’s List.

———-

SIDEBAR: If I remember right, the actual Cosell/Meredith conversations went like this.

Howard: The Steelers’ drive was inexorable.

Dandy: And also hard to stop.

———–

Danderoo’s most famous quip: “Tom Landy is a perfectionist. If he was married to Raquel Welch, he’d expect her to cook.”

One of Howard’s: “Arrogant, pompous, obnoxious, vain, cruel, verbose, a showoff. I have been called all of these. Of course, I am.”

While those two guys amused themselves, Gifford just pretended that they didn’t exist. I really miss those guys.

  1. yeah they made Monday Night Football a “don’t miss” event. I watch just for the halftime highlights from all the previous Sunday’s games… I got really bad towards the end when they started bringing in guys like Dennis Miller

  2. Like this line from ‘To Catch A Thief’ ~ Grace Kelly to Cary Grant ~ “Name me three deciduous trees indigenous to the Northwest.”

  3. Actually it was …

Howard: The Steelers’ drive was inexorable.

Frank: And also hard to stop.

IOW Dandy Don’s vocabulary wasn’t very extensive lol.

    Cosell: You’re being extremely truculent.

Ali: Whatever truculent means, if that’s good, I’m that.

And yes, had to look it up myself … 54 yrs ago.

  4. My favorite story, I hope it’s true – Cosell drank heavily, which renders his polysyllabic ejaculations that much more impressive. But it also led to him spewing right on the Danderoo’s cowbot boots, live on-air. Nothing else for it, the show must go on, they just kept yammering away like nothing had happened. And this is back when TV could go damn, 11-12 minutes without an ad.
