Speaking of Beverly D’Angelo …

Her infamous performance as a silent, masturbating, evil, zombie, cymbal-playing lesbian in The Sentinel has most frequently been seen in the widescreen DVD and Blu-Ray, but there was an earlier full-screen VHS release that revealed slightly more.

In this camera set-up, it made no difference

From this angle, Bev’s crotch disappeared in the widescreen version

This one is probably the most intriguing. As she stood up, the widescreen print cut off her lower body. The full screen version revealed her crotch, but the shot was digitally blurred to hide the best view!

  1. The prudish overzealous widescreen release seems to be common to a lot of movies. Sometimes this might just be due to natural matting differences but many seem to go the extra mile to cover up nudity.

    1. Yes Hollywood is very stingy when it comes to good looking naked women. They know how much value it carries and they aren’t going to give it away too cheaply. They price their content just like porn. You want more then they want you to pay more.

  2. Watch the scene towards the end of Christmas Vacation where Uncle Louis throws the match in the storm drain and blows up. You see where they’re all knocked down and Beverly is put on her back with her legs spread, but “conveniently” a hand appears and blocks the view. 🤔

  3. Beverly was a babe, but supposedly Christina Raines aka Tina Herazo had nude scene(s) edited out which have only appeared in still caps. Digressing.

      1. Indeed, celebrity sleuth/celebrity skin. Still have my collection missing only a couple issues until the interwebs came along and made them obsolete er unnecessary. Time marches on …

One major plus re: the net it made it very easy to find obscure nude scenes. Almost too easy, eh. As always, the journey is oft times wayyy more interesting/entertaining than the final destination. And so it goes.

        1. Ah yeah, I remember the Bare Facts Video Encyclopedia. That was Mr. Skin before the internet.

        2. I still have the Sleuth first issue. At one time it was worth $250, probably much less now
