Katy Perry – eye malfunction

This is just plain weird. Katy can’t open her right eye.

Warning: Drunken Stepfather link. Some people get hijacked by those. We have yet to solve the mystery of why some get hijacked and others do not. I use Chrome and have visited his site for many years with no problems, and that includes links to his site from many other sites including this one. On the other hand, many people report problems, so they are not imaginary.

  1. He is probably using a redirector on his entire website for any requests with a foreign “referrer” in the request. This keeps people from using your site’s images on their websites. Good web admins who use this bit of code usually only apply it to their /images folder though, so links from other sites don’t break.

    1. That can’t be the full explanation, because I can’t duplicate the hijacking, no matter how many times I click on his links, from Other Crap or the other sites that link to him.

It only affects certain people, so either of these might be true:

      Either

      1. It might be specific to certain browsers, devices, or operating systems.

      Or

      2. Some anti-virus programs defeat it while others do not

We still haven’t cracked it. I wrote him about the issue, but no answer so far. But we think we have established that the problem can be circumvented by copying the link and pasting it directly into the address bar. (As opposed to clicking on it.)

  2. I just clicked the link & got hijacked. Then I tried what Sjsixer said & copy / pasted the link & it worked. I used Chrome for both tests.

  3. Another data point. If click on the link on my phone (safari), I get hijacked. If I copy the link and paste it, I get through just fine.

    1. Same. iPhone. Safari browser. Click the link and hijacked. Copy and paste in new window is fine.

Also that’s a funny weird ass video. Lol.
