Dutch TV series

After the tragic death of his daughter, Suga, the leader of a notorious motorcycle gang, struggles to keep his family and his gang together. With rival gangs and a ruthless prosecutor hot on his heels, Suga’s world collapses when his own brotherhood betrays him. Now he faces an impossible choice: reclaim his power or protect his grieving family.

When he gets out of prison, Suga is saddened to hear that so many members of his Dutch motorcycle gang have died. They lost control by trying to operate their hogs with those clumsy wooden shoes. The challenge for him now is to regain control of the biker gang from his notorious former deputies, Honus “Johnny Windmills” Bakker and the mysterious Tulips De Jong.

In addition to the nude scene, the alternate version retains other excised elements like a “cat fight” between strippers, and some additional gore.

La Syd is realistic about her talent. She knows that Lady Macbeth is probably not in her future, but she understands precisely what she does have and how to sell it. That, in itself, is a great talent. There are plenty of women with prettier faces and bigger breasts, but to cite an old adage, she’s Chevy Chase and they’re not.

(She has risen as fast as Chevy, a sudden break-out from an ensemble cast in an ascension that could not have been predicted until it actually happened. Let’s hope her eventual fall is gentler than Chevy’s. In comparison, she does have the advantage of not being a total ass.)

She really seems to enjoy her life. Every time I see an article about her, she is having fun. So far, no scandals of any kind. Somehow she has managed to become the rare starlet who seems to be in charge of her own life.

You would think Francesca Noel must be a giantess. She towers over Ariel, although Ariel is wearing about four-inch heels on a two-inch platform.

In the real world, Francesca is only 5’7″! Ariel is listed at 5’1″. (I suppose Francesca is also wearing extreme heels, but her feet are not visible.)

Anyway, the real point of this post, given the lack of nudity, is that Ariel looks absolutely fantastic. With the weight loss and the breast reduction and her fitness routine, she is really looking hot at 27. This is the time to do a nude scene!

Italian drama. AKA Outside.

A writer ends up in prison for a crazy and unexpected act, where she meets with some young inmates. Once out, the writer and the other women maintain their friendship, an authentic bond that no one else will be able to understand.

This is, more or less, a true story. It’s about incidents in the life of the Italian author and actress Goliarda Sapienza, whose life and whose family deserve to get a complete biography and a mini-series. (See her Wikipedia page for details.) Fuori is adapted most directly from “L’università di Rebibbia,” an account of her time in prison, and “Le Certezze del dubbio,” in which she described the transition from prison to life outside for some women she met in Rebibbia Prison.

(I suppose it’s always my job to inject a note of reality into the myth-making. Sapienza spent all of five days behind bars, despite the fact that she had committed a robbery! If an obscure poor person had done this, it might have meant a long imprisonment. If Amanda Knox had done this, she’d probably still be breaking rocks in the prison yard.)

Sapienza was on the fringes of fame during her life, but she achieved posthumous acclaim for her novel “L’arte della gioia,” which was recently adapted into a mini-series on Sky Atlantic. Valeria Golino, who plays Sapienza in Fuori, was the co-director and one of the writers for that series, which featured quite a bit of nudity. Also topless in the film, for much too short a time in my opinion, is the beautiful Matilda de Angelis.
