I just call it Köln.
English spelling is utterly awful and should have been reformed long ago. Mark Twain remarked how bad it was, and Theodore Roosevelt was interested in improving it. Like adopting the metric system, that reform will apparently not happen until a much larger percentage of the population is not too stupid, ignorant, bigoted, or lazy to put in the effort required to make things better for themselves and for future generations.
It would make a tremendous number of books quite difficult to read. But that happens with the evolution of English anyway. Ever tried to read Shakespeare in the original, or Canterbury Tales? Or even early American stuff with the “long S’s”?
