Samantha wiggles more than her nose!

The only nudity from Elizabeth Montgomery, in The Legend of Lizzie Borden (1975).

This one is obviously the real deal:

The others below? In the topless shot, that seems to be a pastie rather than a nipple. In the long distance shots, I’m not sure who we are looking at. In that lower body shot, I’m not even sure what we are looking at.

Even with the nipple alone, this was an impressive amount of nudity for a 1975 made-for-broadcast film aired on ABC in prime time, and starring an established TV icon.

  1. You miss a lot if you only look at freeze frames. I watched the whole movie back in the day. I stared hard at the nude scenes very closely frame-by-frame and repeatedly in slo mo. Several observations.

    1. In your 3 of 5, in the mirror we see pretty much an entire right boob. Can’t quite make out the nipple, but enough to convince me it’s there somewhere. Nipple may be barely obscured by curtain… ie, only the last-drawn layer, the lacey/diaphanous one.

    2. In your 5 of 5, that’s a bush. This is snapped in the middle of a pan down from slightly further above. I remember watching the clip from a touch sooner and caught more bush. Also, slo mo effectively sharpens the curlies sticking out against the left leg.

    3. In your 4 of 5, there’s more frames of that left nipple, as Lizzie hacks away with an axe and blood spurts onto her face and chest. In phun’s clip, we see 2 frames, 1st before, then after, the initial spatter. Frames 6 and 7 of 9 at imgbox . com / g / CvZBnSU5EC .

    4. In frame 2 of 9, we see Lizzie looking out a window, pulling open her last item of clothing up top with her 2 hands, baring her chest. I remember seeing her left nipple for 1 frame, face still in view. The very next frame is a quick cut to that shot from behind where we see the left boob in the mirror, your frame 3 of 5.

    5. Thread with short clip at forum . phun . org / threads / 3573795 .

    6. Yeah, Nature Mom remembers the plot basically right.

  2. “Genealogical research conducted after Montgomery died found that Montgomery and Lizzie Borden, acquitted of murder in 1893, were sixth cousins once removed, both descending from 17th-century Massachusetts resident John Luther. Montgomery portrayed Borden in the TV movie The Legend of Lizzie Borden (1975), unaware of their connection.”

  3. I was 8 or 9 when it aired, wasn’t allowed to watch it, which wasn’t fair since I’d been allowed to see Trilogy of Terror. I don’t know the story of the nudity, but I’d guess she did at least two takes, one in the buff, another covered in some way, probably edited together. I wouldn’t put it past her to go fully nude, since from what I’ve read she was somewhat of a tomboy type; cussed a lot, chain smoked. She said “shit” once on Password. I don’t imagine her doing a topless scene but asking for a body double for the lower half or using a merkin. She’d strip down & say “Let’s just get it over with, fuckers.” But I’m just guessing; hard to tell from the pics.

  4. Suddenly this is a long time ago. Someone check me if you remember. Wasn’t the deal in the show that they kind of get you on her side, it looks like she’s getting railroaded, but then (like in real life) she’s acquitted, but then – tuh-WIST! – she really killed her parents?
Just curious, not meaning to distract from the tits.
