  3. Tina was absolutely fantastic. She could set a concert hall on fire. I can’t think of anyone I have seen who could quite match her. RIP to a wonderful, talented lady.

  4. I recall a story about her. Frank Zappa used her & the Ike-ettes for his album Overnight Sensation. She had some extremely complex backing vocals to do, particularly on “Montana”. She was so excited at the progress they were making, after days in the studio trying to get it right, that she went and got Ike Turner to hear it. He listened for a couple minutes, said “What is this shit?!” and left. Zappa said it felt like Ike was a pimp. He didn’t give a shit about what the music was or who hired them; he only wanted the money and he took every penny of it for himself. I always felt sorry for her, being pounded on mercilessly by an absolute piece of shit like Ike.
