Sarah Jayne played a popular character on Channel 4’s Hollyoaks for 25 years – until they dropped her for posting nudes on the internet.

I wonder what they think the internet is for.

  1. Did she really get fired off a soap opera for posting nudes? Really? I mean I could understand that happening back in the day. But in this day and age, I would have thought that would be an absolute boon for the show, no? I would think it would draw viewers. I mean look at Paris Hilton, look at Kim Kardashian.

    I don’t get it.

    1. Per Wikipedia:

On 3 November 2021, after her meeting with production, it was reported that Dunn had been “axed” from Hollyoaks. The reason given was that Dunn being active on OnlyFans was “not in line with its target audience”; the production team felt that they have a responsibility to younger viewers and stated that “the show does not allow any Hollyoaks cast members to be active on certain 18+ websites”. In their statement, the team confirmed that they wanted Dunn to take down her OnlyFans account to continue portraying Mandy, but due to her decision to continue posting on the website, they made the decision to write Mandy out of the soap.

        1. Seems like most media in England is owned by the government so censorship is always out of control there and makes little sense. They wouldn’t even play their own rock ‘n roll in the 60s allowing pirate radio to thrive. They wanted to get all the Stones in prison in order to “save their society”. If it wasn’t for pirate radio and the English tuning into shows from the mainland continent, their media would probably still be stuck in the 50s.
