  1. I’d also like to point out the brief flash of bush as Paula sits up in the massage scene that can be seen in the 2nd to last sample pic.

  2. Had a huge crush on her after Warlock: Armageddon. I still have The New Age on VHS bought specifically for those two scenes.

    1. Oh I heard that, watched a lame 90’s show with Jeremy Piven just because she was the lead, just one of those cute actresses who never took off – also I heard her “nudity” on Californication was that Leslie Mann in whatever that godawful Jason Bateman movie was called CGI shit?

      1. Cupid. Yeah, I had a crush on her just because I’m a sucker for that show formula. Same idea as Moonlight, Sophia Myles in that case. Myles sort of reprised (a nod to that show) with a minor role in A Discovery of Witches. Teresa Palmer in that role that I’m a sucker for.

Paula starred in a bunch of B grade sitcom flops after that. I felt sorry for her because she’s a good actor, not her fault they all flopped. Just bad luck, but kind of a bad look. Eventually your resume starts making you look like poison, I’d imagine.

        1. Oh, & FWIW. I think the deal in Californication was just lipstick. Low contrast nipples, low light scene. Director/crew did what they could to make her visual as striking as possible. That was the idea of the scene. The lipstick was just too shiny. Once one viewer suspected digital tampering, that idea quickly became unstoppable. This dynamic keeps on happening in the celeb nudity arena. The rumor mill freezes in bad wild guesses as permanent factoids.

Same thing happened with Briana Brown’s first nude scene in Homeland. That scene was labeled—by lazy viewers who couldn’t be bothered to go back & see her face pan down to her nipples—as a BD. I did point this out, but still no one could be bothered to take a second look. Then when she was topless w/ face & nipples in frame at the same time in the very next episode, the mistake simply became moot. As opposed to forcing anyone to reconsider their settled verdict of a BD in the previous episode.

The same thing has happened sometimes when a “minor” actress is mis-id’ed. I follow unknowns like Cynthia Nixon, Carey Mulligan & Tamara Feldman for years hoping they will get their shot at the limelight, maybe playing the nudity card for a small boost.

But the busy bees who post caps as a cottage industry put quantity over quality. Separate caps for id purposes is a bridge too far for their agenda. They never reconsider a hasty id when some rando points it out. They’re all about volume. Attention to detail eats into their output, they have learned.

Scoopy’s that rare exception who gives a shit, just because he’s a detail freak, in general.

        2. Sophia Myles had that great but brief art model scene in Art School Confidential, but then yeah she disappeared too

          1. Myles has been in other stuff that I liked her in, & additional nude scenes in Hallam Foe (a Scottish name, retitled Mr. Foe for us anglophiles). Earlier nudity (nude debut) in Colditz.

      2. Oh, and the rumor mill also gets a lot of scenes mixed up. In this case, Paula Marshall’s supposed CGI in Californication is a totally separate case from Leslie Mann’s CGI in The Change-Up. (Also, a separate nude scene was a BD.) Anyway, caught in a movie-magic deception & wanting it known she was willing to do a nude scene, she then did her nude debut for reals the very next year for This Is 40, directed by hubby Judd Apatow.

I’d say both of these movies were comedies that Bateman, Reynolds & Rudd tend to get cast in & are sort of interchangeable.
